The Library Doesn't Have It?
Are you looking for a book, board game, or something else we don't have? Please feel free to email a librarian to request it! It might take some time and we cannot get everything. We do appreciate any input from our patrons.
Fun materials in the library
What one person considers fun another person may consider boring. For the purpose of an academic library fun materials are materials that have been purchased without the intention of being used for academic research. This does not mean these materials cannot be used for research. If someone is writing a paper on horror using the materials in this collection is perfect for research.
The materials we consider not primarily intended for research are popular fiction and non-fiction books, meaning these books were not written by scholars in the field, and music CD's. In addition the library has a small collection of boards games for use within the library. New materials are always being added and the library always welcomes patron suggestions.
Where are fun materials located?
- Current Popular BooksThe majority of current popular books are located by the TV lounge area directly east of the stairwell on the second floor.
- Older Popular BooksMany older popular books that are checked out frequently, like Harry Potter or Twilight, will still be located with the current popular books. Older popular books that are not checked out at least once a year are located in the stacks.
- CD'sA large collection of CD's available for checkout are located at the far east section of the reference collection.
- VideosDVD, Blue Ray and VHS videos are integrated into the general collection.
- Board GamesA collection of board games are available for checkout from behind the circulation counter. These games may be used inside the library only.
