Using Library Resources Off Campus

Clark Memorial Library provides students, faculty, and staff with access to over 150 databases covering a wide variety of subjects.  These databases also provide access to full text articles.  When a professor tells you that you need scholarly articles for a research paper or project... don't panic, visit the library in person or online.

These resources are licensed.  So, if you are off campus, you must log in with your campus network username and password.  This proves to the database vendor that you are an SSU student, faculty member, or staff.

For example:

username: doej4
password: 8 character password you have selected

Why can't I log in?

We want to make it easy for you to use our resources wherever you may be!

Below are some tips to help you with off campus authentication issues

  • Are you using an SSU network account to authenticate?
  • Do not add @shawnee.edu or @mymail.shawnee.edu to the username (doej)
  • The password may be different than the one you use for student SSU mymail email accounts
  • You will not be able to authenticate if your password needs reset
  • You can reset your password on any campus computer or online.
  • Students are also encouraged to sign up for the SSU's Self-Service Password feature
