Clark Memorial Library is handicapped accessible and committed to meeting the special needs of handicapped patrons.
Facilities Snapshot:
- A wheelchair ramp is located on the west side of the building near the library's main entrance
- Accessible push button entryway doors
- Tables and study carrels are wheelchair accessible
- Three wheelchair accessible computer tables and several adjustable height study/laptop tables
- A delayed closure elevator is available for access to the library's upper and lower levels
- Aisles wide enough for wheelchairs
- All interior doors are equipped with lever handles
- Accessible restrooms
- Security screens with no turnstiles
- Flohr Lecture Hall provides access to the stage via a wheelchair, amplification devices upon request, and multiple locations for wheelchairs

- Two Magni-Sight readers located on the lower level
- Ebsco database content offers text to speech
- Ebsco databases support JAWS screenreader
- Standard accessibility features are available on computer workstations (both PC and Apple)
- Library staff will retrieve books from shelf upon request
- Remote access to the library's electronic resources is offered
- Training for all staff regarding services for patrons with special needs
- Library staff work closely with SSU's Accessibility Services and Instructional Technology to assist users with special needs
